Jules And Cams Modern Fairytale Wedding

Jules and Cam’s whimsical wedding celebration transported guests to a world of romance and sophistication. The transformed industrial space glowed warmly, its utilitarian charm elevated by soft pastel hues that imbued the ceremony with an air of refinement. We had the pleasure of speaking with the Married At First Sight couple about their special day, uncovering every detail of this memorable occasion.

First Marriage, Then Love…

First Marriage, Then Love...

The unconventional union of Jules and Cam began on the most unexpected note – at each other’s wedding ceremony. As participants in Channel Nine’s reality show Married At First Sight, both had signed up with the hope of finding their perfect match. The show’s experts carefully curated the pair, and despite exhaustion from the intense preparation process, they found themselves still awake and engaged in conversation until 2 am on their first night as newlyweds.

It was as if fate had brought them together before – even the show’s producers were convinced of a prior connection! Three weeks later, Jules and Cam would confirm that their bond was genuine, having spent every waking moment together since that serendipitous encounter.

It was on December 9th, 2018 that Cam and Jules’s relationship reached new heights – literally. Six days without contact had only heightened their excitement as they were finally reunited. The magical proposal unfolded in the majestic Blue Mountains, surrounded by a lush tapestry of flowers and fog. Although the event occurred in December, it wasn’t until April that the world got to witness the joyous moment on television.

As if waiting for the perfect moment to share, Cam kept the stunning engagement ring locked away, only revealing it to the world when the news was finally made public.

With a colour palette that perfectly balanced soft pastel tones, Jules and Cam’s special day was an enchanting blend of whimsical fairytale and modern charm. To pay homage to their traditional white on-screen wedding, the couple subtly incorporated elements from that day, including a cream aisle runner and scattered rose petals. This thoughtful nod brought a romantic touch to their ceremony.

The pair’s vision of a dreamy, elegant celebration came together beautifully, thanks to the expertise of Wafex Australia, Tesselaar Flowers, and Harry’s Wholesale, who sourced flowers from around the world. The Fabled Florette, in collaboration with Chandeliers To Die For, crafted stunning floral and chandelier installations that wowed guests at both the ceremony and reception.

Adding to the magic was Quality Control Entertainment, whose exceptional lighting and sound design ensured an unforgettable experience for Jules and Cam on their big day.

To make her bridesmaids feel like royalty on the big day, Jules went above and beyond to create a spa-like atmosphere while they got ready. She gifted them elegant boxes from Roman & French, which were filled with thoughtful treats including personalized slippers and coat hangers, plush getting-ready robes, high-end Olay products, and champagne flutes. But that wasn’t all – Jules also surprised each bridesmaid with custom jewelry that perfectly reflected their unique personality and style.

The ceremony took place at Beta Bar in Sydney, with guests transported from the QT Sydney to the venue on a vintage-inspired red double-decker London bus. Prior to being a popular nightlife spot, the building had served as a church, leaving behind remnants of its rich history in the form of striking arches and brickwork that provided a unique backdrop for the celebration.

The wedding party was a vibrant mix of friends and family, with a few familiar faces and many new ones joining in on the celebration. Jules’ bridesmaids shone like stars in their elegant white strapless dresses from Esther & Co, perfectly complemented by shoes from Frankie4 Footwear that allowed them to dance the night away without a care. Meanwhile, the flower girls looked adorable in their Coco Blush gowns, although they didn’t quite remember the shoes – so they walked down the aisle barefoot!

To complete their sweet looks, Jules gifted each flower girl a stunning pearl necklace from Pixie Pearls. On Cam’s side, his groomsmen looked dashing in Politix attire from head to toe, exuding confidence and charm as they stood by his side throughout the special day.

Jules stunned in a strapless pink gown designed by Nicky Velani, a true showstopper that required over 300 meters of fabric to bring this exquisite piece to life. This bespoke masterpiece paid homage to her TV wedding dress with the inclusion of stunning feather details, making it a one-of-a-kind 2nd party dress for the bride. Meanwhile, Cam cut a dashing figure throughout their special day, dressed in custom attire by Alex Goodman.

With a keen eye for detail, Cam and Jules decided to collaborate with not one, but two photographers to immortalize their wedding memories. Having previously worked with the talented Ivy from Love Day Wedding, they knew exactly what to expect – exceptional storytelling through photography. The outcome was nothing short of enchanting, as if magic had been woven into every frame.

As the ceremony came to a close, guests made their way downstairs to Alpha Restaurant, where they were treated to a bespoke shared menu crafted by Executive Chef Peter Conistis. Throughout the evening, they had the opportunity to sample an impressive selection of wines from De Bortoli Wines. Meanwhile, upstairs, where the ceremony had taken place just hours prior, was being transformed into a party space of its own accord.

The area was soon abuzz with music courtesy of the Bermuda Social band, while mirror balls by QC Entertainment added a touch of whimsy and a light-up dance floor by Event Dance Floors provided the perfect spot to let loose. As the night wore on, guests were also able to capture all the fun and festivities in a photobooth set up by Capture The Night.

The couple couldn’t sing the praises of Sketch and Etch enough for elevating their reception to new heights. It all started with the breathtaking rose gold wishing well, which inspired the entire aesthetic of the venue.

By incorporating their signature blush pink and nude tones with the elegant touch of rose gold, they seamlessly merged the ceremony and reception spaces, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for their loved ones.

While the sit-down dinner was the main event, it was the surprise dessert bar that stole the show! Cam’s love for cricket was on full display as they both took aim at the majestic piñata cake from Smashed Piñata Cakes. The ‘Mr and Mrs M’ lights by Lime Light Letters added a touch of elegance to the balloon installation from Balloon Essentials, creating a stunning backdrop for their pink velvet cake table by The Treasure Room.

Meanwhile, the dessert bar offered an array of sweet treats, including delectable rose gold and pink cupcakes from Moreish Cakes, as well as personalized cookies from The Cookie Stories Co. featuring the couple’s names and special wedding date.

As Cam and Jules exchanged their vows, the air was filled with the soulful tones of Elvis Presley’s timeless classic ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’, which they accompanied with the signing of their marriage certificate. The celebratory atmosphere only intensified as they took to the dance floor for the first time as a married couple, moving in harmony to Jess Glynne’s upbeat anthem ‘Hold My Hand’.

As the sun set on their special day, Cam and Jules shared a romantic moment under the stars, swaying gently to an intimate acoustic rendition of Kylie Minogue’s iconic ‘Love At First Sight’.

Jules brought traditional elements into her wedding day by incorporating a stunning ‘something blue’, a diamond and aquamarine necklace from Cerrone. The elegant piece shone brightly against the soft pink hue of her ceremony dress, adding a touch of sophistication to the overall atmosphere.

In another nod to tradition, Jules and her bridesmaids participated in the time-honored bouquet toss later in the evening, with one of the sister’s proving lucky enough to catch the arrangement, bringing joy and excitement to all who witnessed it.

As the surprise unfolded, only two individuals were privy to the plan. During her heartfelt speech, Jules unexpectedly revealed that she had spent months working with Jeremy from Tillee Music to craft a custom song for Cam. The emotional impact was palpable as Jeremy took the stage to perform the song live for the first time, perfectly synchronized with the newlyweds’ waltz. In hindsight, both Cam and Jules agree that this moment remains one of their most treasured memories from the day.
